ABOUT US

Concepts for Community Programmes is a national non-profit humanitarian and development organization dedicated to working with communities to reach their full potential. Founded in 2011, CCP works with rural and urban communities of Somalia promoting social cohesion and empowering communities to tackle the causes of poverty and injustice. We provide humanitarian assistance to families affected by disaster & conflict while partnering with communities for long-term solutions to alleviate poverty. Motivated by the potential in the communities we work with, we optimize their role to foster peaceful co-existence and economic empowerment in Somalia.

Food Security & Livelihoods

CCP’s food security, nutrition and livelihoods interventions focus on the following:Training communities on modern agricultural and livestock production, Livestock vaccination and treatment.

Gender & Protection

CCP’s gender and protection programme provides support to affected men, women, boys and girls. CCP is an active voice among the voiceless, creating awareness against GBV..

Education

In alignment with national strategies on education, CCP prioritizes access to education for girls and the marginalized youth. To contribute to the improvement of education system in Somalia CCP has initiated several educational programs including;

Water, Sanitation & Hygiene

CCP supports the sustainable delivery of water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH) services to communities, through capacity building of communities within their social structures to plan, implement, operate, manage..

Peace Building

This involves deployment of peer educators to engage the youth in the camps about negative effects of armed conflicts. Through people-to-people approach CCP is supporting the peace process in communities, strengthening communities enabling them to analyze complex conflict situations

Waste management & recycling

Limited access to infrastructure and few opportunities to earn an income make life hard for women and youth IDPs and vulnerable host communities in Somalia. The consequences of inadequate waste management add to the many challenges they face.

Self Help Group

The overall vision of the Self help group revolving fund is to facilitate sustained access to financial services for IDP and host community women through various microfinance innovations in a cost effective and sustainable manner.
